As of the end of 2023, energy suppliers in Great Britain had roughly 30 million smart and advanced meters in operation in residential and non-residential buildings. The number of smart and advanced meters in operation in the country increased almost 25-fold since 2014. Meanwhile, there were some 22 million traditional meters still in use in 2023.
